Márcio Sampaio Gomes Filho
Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Brasília, with a sandwich doctoral period completed at the Department of Physics (Cavendish Laboratory) of the University of Cambridge.
I conducted postdoctoral research at the Federal University of ABC (2020-2023) and at the ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR) located at the Institute of Theoretical Physics of UNESP in São Paulo (08/2023 to 01/2024).
Currently, I am a visiting professor at the Federal University of ABC (2024). I have experience in Physics, with an emphasis on Statistical Physics.
My interests lie in the areas of theory and computational simulation in complex systems, mainly focusing on the following topics (not limited to): Monte Carlo simulations, molecular dynamics, stochastic simulations, first-principles simulations (DFT), machine learning in Physics, analytical solutions of the diffusion equation, fluctuation-dissipation theorem, growth phenomena, thermodynamics and kinetics of water, drug release, and polymer dynamics.
